JSP’s Yadav faction to join Deuba-led govt

KATHMANDU, July 18: A faction of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) led by one of the Chairmen Upendra Yadav has decided to join the newly formed government led by Sher Bahadur Deuba. 

The parliamentary party meeting of the faction held on Saturday decided to this effect. 

The parliamentary party meeting was attended by the majority of lawmakers of the party, according to a key leader of the faction, Mohammad Istiyak Rai. He shared that 19 lawmakers of thel 32 lawmakers of the party, joined Saturday’s meeting. 

“The party would join the government by raising the party issues based on a common minimum program”

The lawmakers of the party will be seated in the row meant for the ruling side  following Saturday’s decision. 

A meeting of the reinstated House of Representatives (HoR) is being held at 4 PM Sunday.

The JSP has a total of 35 members in both the houses of Federal Parliament --- 32 in the HoR and 3 others in the National Assembly (NA).
