House Dissolution Case: Lawyers of Speaker Sapkota start debating

KATHMANDU, July 4: Legal practitioners of Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota have started pleading on the House dissolution case at the Supreme Court. 

The lawyers representing Speaker Sapkota have been allotted a couple of hours to present their arguments before the constitutional bench headed by Chief Justice Cholednra Shumsher. 

Five legal practitioners --- Meghraj Pokharel, Shree Krishna Subedi, Upendra Keshari Neupane, Lava Kumar Mainali and Shyam Kharel ---- will take part in the debate. 

Advocate Pokhare is the first one to plead on behalf of the speaker. He has been allocated an hour. 

Plaintiffs and defendants concluded their debate on the writ petitioners which have been filed at the apex court seeking the restoration of the lower House of parliament. The 275-member House was dissolved on May 22.
