UML General Secy Pokharel proposes holding 10th General Convention May 13, 2021

KATHMANDU, July 3: The ruling CPN-UML has proposed to hold its Tenth General Convention by May 13, 13 next year. 

Party’s General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel tabled the proposal to hold the general convention during a Central Committee (CC) meeting of the party held in Kathmandu on Saturday. 

Earlier, the party had announced it would hold the general convention for November 18 to 22. 

According to Pokharel’s structural proposal, party membership registration and renewal is expected to conclude by mid-July. Similarly, amendment proposals on party statute will be forwarded to subordinate committees by July 9. 

General Secretary Pokharel aims at starting ward-level conventions from August 21.
