2,760 new COVID-19 cases reported on Thursday

KATHMANDU, July 1: A total of 2,760 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Thursday, taking the COVID-19 caseload in the country to 640,662 till date. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), the new cases were detected through 7,130 PCR tests and 3,855 antigen tests.  

Similarly, 4,017 COVID-19 patients recovered on Thursday taking the country’s recovery tally to 60,0149, meaning the recovery rate is at 93.7 percent. Another 33 people succumbed to coronavirus infection, which has taken the total COVID-19 fatalities to 9,145 ].

There are currently 31,368 active cases of COVID-19 in the country. Among them, 28,374 are availing treatment at home-isolation and 2,994 are being treated in institutional isolation centers.  

Meanwhile, the number of active cases in Kathmandu district stands at 5,011 with Lalitpur recording 1,948 active cases and Bhaktapur 1,395, the Ministry said in its routine press meet.
