30 writ petitions filed at SC against House dissolution, hearings on Thursday, Friday

KATHMANDU, May 25: As many as 30 writ petitions have been filed at the Supreme Court (SC) against the ‘unconstitutional’ dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR). 

The Supreme Court has scheduled the cause list of the 11 writ petitions on Friday. The hearings over those petitions will be carried out at the Constitutional Bench. 

Similarly, the hearings on 19 other petitions, that demand an interim order,  have been scheduled for Thursday. 

President Bidya Devi Bhandari, on May 22, dissolved the lower house of parliament at the recommendation of Cabinet as per Article 76 (7) of the Constitution of Nepal.
