COVID-19 scare: Nepal reports highest ever single day rise of 9,070, 2,707 other patients recover

KATHMANDU, May 6: Nepal’s COVID-19 caseload has climbed to 368,580 including 9,070 new cases confirmed in the past 24 hours This is the highest single-day rise in the country since January,2020. 

Nepali officials confirmed 2,707 more recoveries in the last one day taking the recovery rate to 79.4 percent. 

Similarly, 44 other COVID-19 fatalities were confirmed on Thursday alone. This takes the total number of deaths to 3,529. 

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley, where Nepal’s capital city lies, reported 3,972. Of the three districts in the Valley, Kathmandu alone saw 3,163  while 567 others tested positive in Lalitpur and 242 in Bhaktapur districts.
