Cabinet endorses CCMC’s recommendation with amendment

KATHMANDU, April 26: A Cabinet meeting held on Monday evening endorsed the recommendations made by the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) with amendment.

The meeting, which primarily dwelt on the government’s strategies to fight against the exacerbating crisis of the second wave of COVID-19 in the country, endorsed most recommendations made by the CCMC. The Cabinet, however, decided to allow the operation of domestic air services until 6 AM on Thursday though CCMC suggested suspending the air transportation effective from Wednesday.

According to a minister, today’s Cabinet meeting also decided to authorize the local administrations to enforce prohibitory orders if the number of active cases of coronavirus disease surpasses 200 in the hill districts and 500 in terai and those located in the Kathmandu Valley, as per the recommendation made by CCMC on Sunday.

Similarly, examinations of all levels are also put off in line with the CCMC’s recommendation.

Meanwhile, the district administration offices (DAOs) of the three districts in the Kathmandu Valley on Monday issued separate orders prohibiting all the services and activities except for the emergency ones.
