KATHMANDU, April 19: The government has decided to prorogue the winter session of the House of Representatives (HoR).

A Cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official residence on Monday morning decided to recommend to the president for the prorogation of the House session, a minister told Ratopati.

The ongoing winter session began on March 7, earlier this year following its reinstatement on February 23. The 275-member lower house of parliament was dissolved on December 20 by President Bidya Devi Bhandari at the recommendation of PM Oli.

The meeting also decided to issue a new health protocol recommended by the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC)
