Printing of sample ballot papers for polls begins

Kathmandu - The printing of sample ballot papers for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies under proportional representation system has started from Tuesday, said the Election Commission. The polls are scheduled for November 26 and December 7 respectively. The Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra Limited (JSSKL) has been tasked with the printing. 

Meanwhile, Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav and Commissioner Narendra Dahal on Tuesday reached the JSSKL office in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur and took stock of the situation of the press and security situation there. 

"Sanitation at the press and its situation has been good. Test-printing of the ballot papers has started from today," said Dr Yadav talking to media-person after the inspection. A total of 15.42 million voters are eligible to vote in the polls, according to the EC.
