Writ petition filed demanding to scrap candidacy of leaders including Bijay Gachhadar, GovindarajJoshi

KATHMANDU, Oct 13: A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court demanding to scrap the candidature of candidates who are facing charges of corruption and other criminal offenses.

Advocate Anil Acharya filed a petition at the apex court on Thursday against leaders including Bijay Kumar Gachhadar, former deputy prime minister.

The petition was filed against 11 candidates for the House of Representatives (HoR) including Gachhadar, Nepali Congress leader Govinda Joshi, RPP leader Bikram Pandey, independent candidates Prabhu Shah and Sarita Giri, UML’s candidates for Sindhupalchowk-1 Yudda Bikram Tamang, Nepali Congress leader Tek Bahadur Gurung, Laxmi Mahato from Mohhatari and CPN (Maoist Center)’s candidates Rewatraj Puri aka Gagan from Jhapa-5.
