Six arrested on charge of hitting bouncers of Platinum Club with Khukuri

KATHMANDU, Oct 12: Police have arrested six people on a charge of hitting two bouncers of Platinum Club in Kathmandu with a Khukuri.

It has been learnt that the arrestee hit two bouncers of Platinum Club with Khukuri at around 4 AM on Tuesday morning while they were returning to their rooms.

They - Nitesh Rai and Tsering Lama - are currently undergoing treatment.

The arrestees have been identified as Dawa Dorje Sherpa aka Changba from Bharabise, Sindhupalchowk, Pradeep Lama, Jeevan Tamang and Jiten Lama from Mangaltar, Kavre.

According to the arrestees, the bouncers had beaten Dawa Dorje Sherpa around a month ago and a gold chain of one of their friends was lost during the incident.

Khukuri- a curved steel knife with a razor-sharp edge used in combat by the Gurkhas; has cultural and religious significance in Nepal.
