Sandeep’s lawyer claims that the girl who filed the rape complaint against Lamichhane is not a minor

KATHMANDU, Oct 10: Sandeep Lamichhane’s lawyer has claimed that the girl who filed a rape complaint against Lamichhane is not a minor.

Speaking to the media at Kathmandu District Court on Monday, Lamichhane’s lawyer maintained that the girl might have made a new birth certificate.

Lamichhane has also maintained that the girl used to say she was 19 years old when they were in contact.

“We have found that the girl has reduced her age in her birth certificate for academic purposes,” said Saroj Ghimire, Lamichhane’s lawyer.

The Kathmandu District Court had granted a permission to remand Sandeep Lamichhane in custody for seven the further investigation which will be effective from October 6. 

The police had presented rape accused Lamichhane before court on Monday morning.
