Claiming that the impeachment motion registered against him is void, CJ Rana asked for ‘justice’

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: Recording his statement during a meeting of the impeachment recommendation committee on Wednesday, suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana maintained that the impeachment motion is void and asked the committee for justice.

Rana also maintained that he came to the committee meeting only to honor the parliament. He also accused media and political parties of being prejudiced while he was working as per rules and regulations.

The committee had recorded a statement of Rana asking him 43 questions.

Earlier in February, as many as 98 lawmakers of Congress, Maoist Center and CPN (Unified Socialist) registered the motion at the Parliament Secretariat. Following the registration, an Impeachment Recommendation Committee was also formed.
