Impeachment recommendation committee to record statement of suspended CJ Rana today

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: The impeachment recommendation committee is scheduled to record the statement of suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana on Wednesday.
A meeting of the committee is scheduled for 11 AM today.
The 11-member committee includes four lawmakers of UML, two each of Nepali congress and CPN (Maoist Center), and one each of CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party.
The committee can record statements of both CJ Rana and those who registered the motion.
Earlier in February, as many as 98 lawmakers of Congress, Maoist Center and CPN (Unified Socialist) registered the motion at the Parliament Secretariat. Following the registration, an Impeachment Recommendation Committee was also formed.
