PM Deuba summons meeting of key party leaders

KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has summoned a meeting of the key party leaders.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Prime Minister’s Office at Baluwatar at 9 AM this morning.

The meeting will dwell on the upcoming general elections and issues of seat sharing with the coalition members.

The ruling NC is eying to be the largest party in the country through the election while the CPN (MC) is targeting to be the second largest.

Of the 165 election constituencies, the NC is preparing to claim 99 seats while the CPN (MC) is preparing to claim 50 seats. Likewise, the CPN (US) wants 25 seats and the JSP wants 15 seats. One goes to the Rastriya Janamorcha Party.

 A task force has been formed to prepare a strategy for seat sharing in the upcoming polls. The task force is also scheduled to hold its meeting on Monday.
