Writ petition filed in SC demanding expansion of statute of limitation in rape case

KATHMANDU, May 31: Students of Law have filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court demanding expansion of statute of limitations in rape cases.
As per the preveling law, complaints of rape can be filed within the one year of being rape in Nepal.
The petitioners have maintained that the prevailing law has promoted injustice to victims who cannot file the case within one year and allowed the rapist to escape.
Students of National Law Campus – Stuti Subedi, Abijeet Adhikari and Sangeet Dunghana — filed the writ petition at the apex court on Monday.
