UPDATE KMC Mayor Race: Balen Shah maintains lead of 12,571 votes

KATHMANDU, May 20: Balen Shah, independent mayoral candidate for Kathmandu metropolis, is currently leading the vote count.
As per the latest data revealed by the Election Commission, Shah has secured 27,134 votes which is 12,571 votes more than his nearest contender.
Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML is in second position with 14,563 votes followed by Srijana Singh of Nepali Congress with 14,074 votes.
Sunita Dangol, deputy mayoral candidate of UML garnered 26,852 votes followed by Rameshwar Shrestha of CPN (Unified Socialist) with 9,316 votes.
