KMC Mayor Race: Balen’s leads vote count with margin of almost 9000 votes
KATHMANDU, May 17: Balen Shah, an independent candidate for the post of the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City is currently leading the vote count with a huge margin of 8,697 votes with his nearest contender as of 4:30 PM, Wednesday.
Balne has so far garnered 18,016 votes which is 8,697votes more than his nearest contender Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML. Sthapit has collected 9,319 votes.
Likewise, Srijana Singh, Nepali Congress’s candidate for the post has collected 8,272 votes.
So far votes for wards 1, 2, 3 and 5 have already been counted, according to the poll body. Likewise, votes for wards 4, 6, 7, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 32 are currently underway.
