Nepal-India border points in Province 1 to remain closed till May 13

KATHMANDU, May 11:The District Administration Office (DAO), Morang has decided to close the Nepal-India border points in Province 1 till May 13 in a bid to maintain security during the local level elections.

The border points will remain closed from this afternoon to midnight of May 13.

Border points at Illam, Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari have been closed, according to the Police Office, Province 1. However, the emergency vehicles like ambulance and fire brigades will be allowed to cross the borders on the election day as well.

The local level election is all set to begin on May 13.
