EC expresses concern over pressurizing rebel candidates to withdraw their nominations

KATHMANDU, April 29: The Election Commission (EC) has expressed concerns over pressurizing rebel candidates to withdraw their nominations by various political parties.
The poll body has maintained that such activities are against the Constitution and law that grants a citizen rights to participate in politics, file candidacy, get elected and contribute to the governing system.
The poll body has also urged the authorities concerned not to conduct such activities.
Earlier, the ruling alliance had asked its leaders filing rebel candidacy to withdraw their nominations.
