Hearing of writ petition filed by Governor Adhikari to be continued today

KATHMANDU, April 28: The hearing of the writ petition filed by Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari at the apex court against the government’s decision to suspend him is scheduled for today.

The hearing initiated on Wednesday by a joint bench of Justices Sapana Pradan Malla and Tanka Prasad Moktan is scheduled for Thursday as well.

Earlier on April 17, Governor Adhikari had filed a writ petition against the government’s move to suspend him. 

The government on April 8 had suspended Governor Adhikari accusing him of leaking sensitive information and under-performing and formed an investigative committee against Adhikari.

Later on April 19, the hearing of the case conducted by the bench of Justice Hari Phuyal issued an interim order not to suspend the Governor and let him resume the office.
