Hearing of writ petition filed against Governor Adhikari's suspension today

KATHMANDU, April 19: Hearing of the writ petition filed against the suspension of the Governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Maha Prasad Adhikari is scheduled for Tuesday.

Suspended Governor Adhikari had filed a writ petition demanding an interim order to reverse the government’s decision on Sunday.

If the apex court issues an interim order against the government’s decision to suspend the NRB’s Governor, Adhikari will be reappointed for the post.

Earlier on April 8, the government suspended Governor Adhikari accusing him of leaking sensitive information and under-performing and formed an investigation committee.

Adhikari has accused the government of making an unconstitutional move.
