Letang Incident: Six arrested, investigation underway

A policewoman was killed in a clash on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, March 21: Police have arrested six individuals for conducting investigation of the Letang incident in which a policewoman was killed on Sunday.

“Six people have been arrested and the police have begun the investigation of the case,” said Kashiraj Dahal, Chief District Officer of  Morang. “Police are also booking those involved in the incident.”

Urmila Shrestha, 24, originally from Kothang, was killed in a clash between police and the local students on Sunday.

Accusing Manoj Poudel, a teacher of Letang-5 based Siksha Bikash Secondary School, of abusing a student, the students of the school and the locals had staged a protest in the school premises.
