Hearing of writ petition filed against constitutional appointments today
KATHMANDU, March 18: The Constitutional Bench is scheduled to conduct a hearing on the writ petition filed against the constitutional appointments made by the then KP Sharma Oli government at the Supreme Court on Friday.
The government-led by Oli had made appointments in various constitutional bodies after amending provisions of the Constitutional Council through an ordinance.
Senior advocate Dinesh Triphati and advocate Om Prakash Aryal had then filed a writ petition against those appointments stating that the ordinance was against the constitution and appointments were made without conducting parliamentary hearings. They have also demanded to scrap those appointments.
