PM Deuba urges contractors to get prepared for tender of MCC contract

KATHMANDU, March 11: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the construction firms to be ready for tender of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)-Nepal compact.

“The government has already ratified the compact and soon a public tender will be announced at an international level,” said PM Deuba.

“As the United States of America and Nepal both are involved in the compact, contractors from the countries will be invited to bid for the project,” PM Deuba said.

The MCC-Nepal compact, $500 million grant, aims to build electricity transmission lines and expand the roads.

After a huge public outcry and political differences, the government recently ratified the compact with an interpretative declaration.
