Around a dozen socket bombs recovered in Rukum

KATHMANDU, March 11: Around a dozen socket bombs were recovered in East Rukum on Thursday.

The herders on Thursday recovered the bombs in a cave at Burkesalla of Sisne Rural Municipality-2 of the district.

The herders had then informed the Ward Chairperson, Jeevan KC.

The area police office later confirmed the objects to be socket bombs.

According to inspector Dipendra Baniya, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Rolpa, the bombs were found kept in a 10 liter plastic drum.

A team of the Nepal Army has headed toward the location to dispose of the explosives.

It has been assumed that the bombs might have been kept there by cadres of the then Maoist Party during the People’s War.
