It falls under our jurisdiction to decide color of ballot paper: EC

KATHMANDU, March 10: The Election Commission (EC) has maintained that it falls under the commission’s jurisdiction to decide the color of the ballot paper.

“The commission has chosen a green color to make it easier to count votes and the commission is ready to answer if anyone has questions regarding the decision,” said Surya Prasad Aryal, deputy spokesperson of the poll body.

“Besides, it falls under the commission’s jurisdiction to decide the color and design of the ballot paper,” Aryal added.

Recently, Chairman of the main opposition party, CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli had expressed concerns over the commission’s decision to give green color to the ballot paper to be used in the upcoming local level elections.
