11-member impeachment recommendation committee formed for moving impeachment against CJ Rana

KATHMANDU, March 6: The government formed an 11 members impeachment recommendation committee  to move the impeachment motion registered against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana on Sunday. 

A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) decided to form an impeachment recommendation committee.

Article 101 (2) of the Constitution states that there shall be an impeachment recommendation committee in the House of Representatives for the purpose of making recommendation after inquiring into whether there exist the ground and reason for moving a motion of impeachment against any person.

An impeachment motion was registered at the parliament secretariat against the chief justice Rana earlier on February 13.

The committee includes Ekwal Miya, Kalyani Khadka, Krishna Bhakta Pokharel, Pramod Shah, Min Bahadur BK, Yesoda Gurung, Ram B Bista, Rekha Sharma, Lal Babu Pandit and Shiva Maya Tumbahangfe.
