NMA distributes relief materials to mountaineers
KATHMANDU, March 1: Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has begun distributing food relief materials from Monday
under the project being implemented with financial support from the Nippon Foundation of Japan to mountaineers.
A commencement ceremony was held at NMA premises on Monday.
The relief includes rice, lentil, salt and cooking oil among many.
The relief was received by around two hundred and two mountaineers (NMA book holders) on the very first day of the distribution.
Every Mountaineer received 50-kg rice, five-kg lentil,two kg salt and two liter soybean oil.
NMA will continue distribution of the relief materials this week from NMA, according to the press statement of the association.
Three thousand (3000) mountaineers will be provided with the same amount of food materials as the relief package under the project, further reads the statement.
Earlier, the NMA had carried out a survey to select 3000 recipients from eleven thousand five hundred NMA registered mountaineers.
