Sonam Lhosar: Public holiday on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, Feb 1: The government has announced to grant a public holiday on Wednesday on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar.
The Buddhist community is observing the 2848th Sonam Lhosar, where Lho stands for Year and Sar stands for New, on Wednesday. The festival is observed for 15 days in Sherpa, Tamang and Hyolmo communities.
Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Home Affairs has announced a public holiday in both the government and public offices on Wednesday.
