Weather Alert: Impact of westerly low-pressure system remains

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: The Westerly low-pressure system is having a partial impact on the weather at present. It will be partly cloudy in the hilly parts of the country while the Tarai areas will have foggy conditions due to the influence of this system, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

Although there was sunshine until noon in the Kathmandu Valley for the last two days, the weather turning cloudy afternoon continues resulting in somewhat chilly.

The minimum temperature in Kathmandu was three degrees Celsius while the maximum was 16 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.

Most parts of the country including Kathmandu are witnessing warm sunshine today. The Division's weather bulletin states that the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly parts of Province 1 and Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces while partly cloudy in the rest of the parts in the afternoon.

The same weather will prevail tonight, the Division stated.
