All courts to remain closed on Sunday to mourn former CJ's demise
KATHMANDU, Jan 23: The Supreme Court (SC) has decided to grant a holiday in all courts across the country on Sunday.
The full court of the Supreme Court decided to this effect to mourn the demise of former Chief Justice (CJ) Mohan Prasad Sharma.
According to a press statement issued by the apex court, high courts, special courts, and tribunals would remain closed on Sunday.
Former CJ Sharma died last Wednesday at the age of 88. Sharma had forayed into government service in 2015 BS and assumed the post of CJ from 2054 to 2056 BS. He is survived by a son and daughter.
Expressing deep sorrow over the demise of Sharma, the meeting has extended condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed that the departed soul rests in peace.
