Janamat party declares 18-day protest defying govt’s COVID-19 restrictions

The government has prohibited gathering of more than 25 people in public places and staging any sort of gatherings in the bid to curb the further spread of COVID-19.

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: The Janamat Party-led by CK Raut has announced to stage an 18 day-long protest in the support of farmers defying the government’s restriction against large gatherings amid COVID-19 pandemic.

A meeting of the party held on Sunday took a decision to this effect. The party has also maintained that it will stage protests in support of farmers from January 17 to February 3 in the districts in the terai region of the country.

The government has prohibited gathering of more than 25 people in public places and staging any sort of gatherings in the bid to curb the further spread of COVID-19.
