Nepali delegation flying to Afghanistan with humanitarian aid today

KATHMANDU, Jan 16: Amid deepening human crisis in Afghanistan following the takeover by Taliban, a Nepali team is flying to the country today with humanitarian aid on Sunday.

The team-led by the Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Sewa Lamsal is scheduled to fly to Afghanistan in an aircraft of the Himalayan Airlines.

Lamsal will be accompanied by officials at the Ministry, representatives of private sectors and journalists. The team will distribute 14 tons of relief materials to civilians there.

Organising a press conference at the Tribhuvan International Airport, the Minister for the MoFA, Narayan Khadka, maintained that the relief includes medical supplies, clothes and daily essentials among others.

The Himalayan Airlines is conducting the flight free of cost, according to Minister Khadka.

The Nepali team will be welcomed at Kabul by representatives of the United Nation Organisation (UNO).
