Six die in Tanahun jeep mishap

TANAHUN, Jan 15: Six passengers died and six others sustained injuries when a jeep met with an accident at Bandipur Rural Municipality-6, Dharampani in Tanahun district on Friday evening. 

Deceased have been identified as nine-month-old Aarubi Thapa, 24-year-old Roshan Gurung, Sushila Devi Neupane, 42 and Hari Bahadur Neupane, 53. Similarly, Bhim Maya Gurung, 76, and Suk Bahadur Gurung, 43, breathed their last on the way to the hospital. 

The ill-fated vehicle (Ga 1 Ja 6555) was bound to Dharampani from Ghumaune, according to the local police. The jeep skidded some 100 meters off the road at around 8:30 PM on Friday. 

Injured passengers were referred to further treatment in Chitwan after minor treatment in local Bandipur Hospital. 

Police said that the driver of the jeep is out of contact as of writing this news.
