Smart Lockdown: Here is the list of activities restricted from today

KATHMANDU, Jan 12: The District Administration Offices in the Kathmandu Valley, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur, have enforced restriction in certain activities beginning from Wednesday in the bid to curb the possible outbreak of the third wave of COVID-19 in the country.

The local unit has also urged one and all to observe precautions against COVID-19 as the third wave is likely and the cases of COVID-19 were rising alarmingly lately. 

Here is the list of activities that are restricted from today:

1) Venturing outdoors without wearing masks 

2) Not maintaining physical distance  

3) Dwelling in public places like hotels, restaurants, cinema halls, stadium, airport and gardens among others, without vaccination card (soft copy) effective from January 21

4) Gathering of more than 25 people 

5) Political, social and administrative events with a larger number of attendees

6) Physical classes in school till January 29 

7) Public passenger vehicles carrying passengers more than the seat capacity 

Security agencies will routinely monitor whether the orders were obeyed or not and those not abiding the orders shall be brought to book in accordance with the Infectious Disease Act-2020 BS, according to the order issued by the DAOs in Kathmandu Valley. 

The order also warns strict action against those involved in black marketeering, creating artificial shortage of essential goods such as medicines and disrupting the supply of essential goods among others shall be punished as per the prevailing law.
