Seven arrested on charge of gang rape in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Decem,ber 29: The police arrested seven people on the charge of gang rape from a guest house in New Buspark, Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Of nine individuals accused of gang rape, seven were arrested according to SSP Sudeep Giri of Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu.

It has been learnt that the woman, 33 years old, originally from Surkhet was taken to a guest house by Yubaraj Baduwala of Mugu. Yubaraj then called Hikmat Nepali, another man from Mugu, to the guest house. According to the police, these two individuals raped the woman that night. Next day, seven other people took the lady to another guest house and raped her.

These people have been accused of raping the woman taking her to more than three guest houses several times.

The arrestees have been identified as Yubaraj Baduwala, Hikmat Nepali, Ratan Nepali, Suresh Sejuwala, Dipak Nepali, Shiva Hari Buda and Gopal Kumar Shrees.

Two individuals identified as Hasta Nepali and Chandra Saud of Mugu are currently at large, according to SSP Giri.

The victim had travelled to Kathmandu in search of job opportunities.
