EPL: Kathmandu Kings XI thrashes Lalitpur Patriots by seven wickets

Kathmandu's Ryan Burl takes two wickets, scores 73 unbeaten

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Kings XI (KKXI) thrashed Lalitpur Patriots (LLP) by seven wickets in the inaugural match of the Everest Premier League (EPL) played on Saturday. 

KKXI reached the target of 158 runs in the 15th over with  34 balls remaining. Thanks to an all-round performance by Ryan Burl. 

In the match played at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ryan Burl scored half centuries each to guide their side to an easy victory. WHile Gurbaz scored 59 runs off 36 balls Burl remained unbeaten with 73 runs from 34 runs. 

The Kings elected to field first after winning the toss. 

For Lalitpur Patriots, Pawan Sarraf hit 61 runs from balls and took a wicket in the form of Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Yogendra Singh Karki could score 33 runs before he was trapped lbw by Burl. 

While Jitendra Mukhiya sent four batsmen to the pavilion, Gulsan Jha and Ryan Burl took two wickets each.
