10:02 AM most auspicious time for this year’s Dashain tika

KATHMANDU: Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Samiti (Calendar Determination Committee) has said that 10:02AM is the most auspicious time for receiving and offering Bada Dashain tika on Monday.

The committee also said one receiving Dashain tika should face the east direction. Juniors receive tika, which is the mixture of rice grains, curd and red vermilion powder, on the 10th day of the Dashain festival --- Bijaya Dashami --- as a blessing of the goddess Durga.

This year’s Bada Dashain festival begins from October 7. Bijya Dashami falls on October 15.
