President extends best wishes on Krishna Janmastami and Gaura Parva

KATHMANDU, August 30: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended a message of best wishes on the occasion of Shree Krishna Janmastami on Monday.

Issuing a best wishes message, the Head of the State wished for peace, happiness, prosperity and good health to all Nepalese in home and abroad. 

President Bhandari also reminded that the Hindus across the world remember Lord Krishna as the propounder of Bhakti Yoga, Gyanyog and Karmayog on the day. She has further expected that the religious festival, Krishna Janmastami will inspire all to further strengthen national unity in the multi-cultural, multilingual and multi-religious country.  

Meanwhile, the President has extended best wishes on the occasion of the Gaura Parva -- festival that is especially marked in the Sudurpaschim Province of the country. 

The devotees worship Goddess Gauri. Gaura celebration starts with Biruda Panchami (fifth day of the lunar calendar). On the day of Biruda Panchami, married women soak five cereals also known as Pancha Biruda by adhering to the special rituals.

The President has expected that the festival will help all to further strengthen social and cultural unity in the society. She mentioned that the festival will inspire all to preserve original cultural and religious festivals. 

The President has urged all to mark the festivals by following the health and safety protocols in the pandemic. (RSS)
