PHOTOS: Tharuhat agitators’ sit-in at Maitighar

KATHMANDU, Aug 19: The Central Coordination Committee of Tharuhat Tharuwan National Front staged a sit-in at Maitighar in the capital on Thursday.

On the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the Tharuhat Tharuwan uprising, a sit-in was held at Maitighar Mandala demanding equality, justice and rights for a ‘successful’ third round of the campaign against slavery.

On the occasion, the protestors staged various demonstrations including drama. Participants in the sit-in displayed placards and banners demanding the release of Resham Chaudhary and  ensuring rights to the Tharu community.
