Province 1 reported highest number of rape cases last FY

KATHMANDU, Aug 15: Province 1 reported the highest number of rape cases in the fiscal year 2020-21 (from mid-July 2020 to mid-July 2021).
According to a record maintained by Nepali Police, a total of 602 complaints were lodged against rape in Province 1 alone.
Nepal Police Spokesperson Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Basanta Kunwar shared that as many as 2,532 rape cases were reported across the country in the last fiscal year.
Meanwhile, 375 complaints were filed against rape cases in Province 2 followed by 300 in Bagmati Province.
