Prohibitory orders in Valley extended until July 5 with eased provisions, what are allowed?

KATHMANDU, June 28: Ongoing prohibitory orders in the Kathmandu Valley have been extended by another one week. 

A meeting of the chief district officers (CDOs) of the three districts in the Valley, on Monday, decided to extend the orders until July 5 and introduce relaxed provisions. 

The new orders, which will come in force from Monday midnight, will allow the public vehicles , with the capacity of more than 25 seats, to resume their services within the Valley. 

The vehicles will remain operational on an odd-even system. 

The public bus operators are required to abide by the public health protocol such as maintaining physical distance, making sure that passengers and bus staff wear face masks, managing hand sanitizers and disinfecting the vehicles on a daily basis among others. 

No restriction in these sectors / activities
> Vehicles owned by government offices, public enterprises, diplomatic missions, security bodies and health professionals, vets and printing press

> Vehicles transporting fertilizers, seed, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, food stuff, fodder, cooking gas, sanitary items, etc

> Vehicles transporting emergency goods, ambulances, hearses, etc. 

> Industries and factories 

> Public and private construction works. 

When will shops remain open?

> Pharmacies and those shops that sell emergency food stuff and other essential items are allowed to open 24/7

> Shops selling food stuff, dairy products, fruits and vegetables, fish and meat, worship materials, sports items, stationery items to remain open until 6 PM 

>  Departmental stores, shopping malls, clothing stores, cosmetics stores, gift item stores, jewellery shops, kitchen utensils stores,electronic and eclectic stores, mobile and computer shops, hardware stores, furniture stores and sanitary item stores to remain open from 11 AM to 6 PM
> Online order, take away and home delivery services by restaurants until 7 PM 

These services/ activities remain shut 

> All kinds of assemblies, conferences, seminars, training programs, cinema halls, party palaces, dance bars, swimming pools, fun areas, saloons, beauty parlors, health clubs, gymnasium, librairies, futsal centers, museums, zoos, stadiums and all other activities that form a large crowd

> Gathering in open spaces, organizing feasts, fairs and festivals and staging protests

 > Physical classes at schools, colleges, tuition centers, training centers
