Nepal makes it to semifinal of Women's T20 Smash cricket tournament

Kathmandu– Nepal entered semifinal by beating hosts Thailand by nine wickets in its fourth and final group phase match of the ongoing Women's T20 Smash cricket tournament at Bangkok-based Terdthai Cricket Ground today. 
With this, Nepal so far registered four consecutive wins in the competition. 


Batting first, Thailand was restricted to only 19 runs. Chasing out the paltry 20 runs target, Nepal achieved it in 3.3 overs at the loss of a wicket. 


Mamata Kumari Chaudhary made eight runs, while Neri Thapa five and Doli Bhatta two. Indu Barma and Sarita Magar claimed two wickets each. Likewise, Rubina Chhetri, Sonu Khadka and Sita Ranamagar took one wicket each. 


For Thailand, Phanchanok Phopluk made the highest four runs, while other fives were dismissed for a golden duck. 
Nepal is placed in Group 'A' alongside China, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia and Thailand, while Group 'B' comprises Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Bhutan and Myanmar. Nepal will next take on first runner-up of the Group 'B' in semifinal.
