Swimming competition in Phewa lake

Kaski –A swimming competition is to be organized in the Phewa lake in Pokhara on Friday. 
The eighth open swimming championship is to be held on a distance of 2.5 kilometres in the Phewa lake, Nepal Swimming Association general secretary Jagatman Shrestha announced at a news conference here on Wednesday. 


He said that the swimming competition is being organized for the promotion of sports tourism through swimming. 
According to him, as many as 50 people including foreign tourists will participate in the event. There will be separate events for women and men. The swimming course is from Barahighat to the other side of the lake and then back to Barahighat, Shrestha said.
