CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Thapa passes away

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Dr Duman Thapa passed away on Sunday night. 

He was 62.

A patient of renal disease, Dr Thapa died while undergoing treatment at HAMS Hospital at Mandikhatar, CPN (Unified Socialist) party central member Mohan Gautam said. 

Dr Thapa was a member of the party's election commission. A Ph D in Agriculture Science from the USA. 

He was also elected to the Constituent Assembly from Arghakhanchi constituency-2  in 2013. 

His last rites would be performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat on Monday.
