COVID-19: 3,451 new cases, 2,458 recoveries and 35 deaths reported

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Nepal on Monday reported 2,451 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). 

Of the 15,611 samples tested in the past 24 hours as of Monday afternoon, 2,566 turned out to be positive through  RT-PCR tests and 885 others through antigen tests. 

With this, the total number of the COVID-19 infections has jumped to 734,838 (through PCR tests) and 76,015 (through antigen tests) as of Monday afternoon. 

Meanwhile, 2,458 patients got over the disease taking the recovery tally to 685,140. This accounts for 93.2 percent of the total infections. 

The officials also confirmed 35 more deaths on Monday, meaning Nepal’s COVID-19 related death tally hit 10,327.
