Two strong tremors jolt Nepal, five houses collapsed

KATHMANDU, May 19: An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale occurred in western Nepal on Thursday morning.  According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, the epicenter of the earthquake that occurred at 5.42 this morning was nearby Bhulbhule of Lamjung. 

According to the National Monitoring and Research Center, two different tremors--- of Magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck Lamjung at around 5:42 am on Wednesday and another of Magnitude 5.3 at 8:26 am.

Seismic expert Dr Lokbijaya Adhikari shared that the earthquake measured 5.8 on the Richter scale. The jolt was also experienced in different parts of Lamjung, Gorkha, Tanahun, Kaski, Manang, Chitwan, Dhading and Kathmandu Valley. 

Five houses were destroyed and four people were injured during the tremor. According to Gandaki Province Police Chief, Ghanshyam Aryal, the damage was reported from Dordi-9 in Lamjung.
