Action demanded against those involved in killing Khaire

KATHMANDU, April 26: Action has been demanded against those involved in killing Khaire, a dog. Two youths had on March 31 thrashed the Khaire to death at 28 kilo of Dhulikhel municipality-4. 

In a press meet on Sunday, office bearer of an organisation, Rescue Animal Nepal, Srijana Adhikari, shared that though they have requested police to immediately arrest the youths involved in the incident, police have been making dillydallying.  

A video where two men are seen repeatedly hitting the dog with a spade and iron rod tying the poor animal in an electric pole went viral in a social media. 

Warning to launch stern agitation if those involved in the incident are not arrested, Adhikari said that they have already filed complaint at police administration to arrest the youths. 

As per the Livestock Protection Act, there is a provision of three months of imprisonment and Rs 5,000 fine for those involved in killing animal.
