Sixteen reconstructed houses handed over

Lamjung - Sixteen houses damaged by the Gorkha Earthquake two years back have been handed over to the local community after their reconstruction.Fourteen family shelters, a community building and one health care block were handed over to the community at Rainas. 

These shelters and buildings were reconstructed with the special support of Natasha Wozniak, an American national. She contributed 15 million rupees as per the 60:40 cost sharing arrangement agreed for the house reconstruction, according to Krishna Raj Oliya, the coordinator of the Settlement Reconstruction Committee. 

The structures were handed over to the house-owners amidst a programme where National Planning Commission (NPC) member Sunil Babu Shrestha was the chief guest. 

Locals have started providing homestay services to the tourists visiting their area with the reconstruction of their houses.
